The Associazione per il Patrimonio dei Paesaggi Vitivinicoli UNESCO (Association for the Heritage of the UNESCO Vineyard Landscapes) was established in 2011 to coordinate governance activities related to the UNESCO site. These activities range from promoting its nomination to the integrated planning of projects concerning the site itself.
As set out in its Statute, its key objectives include gaining in-depth knowledge of the site's cultural and landscape heritage, by enhancing and promoting it, and disseminating this knowledge. These objectives are pursued in line with the values expressed in the nomination, with the ultimate goal of achieving harmonious socio-economic development.
Today, just over eleven years since the Piedmont Vineyard Landscapes of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato were recognised by UNESCO, the Association is renewing and strengthening its mission to promote awareness of the value, balance, history and beauty of these magical vineyard landscapes.
This mission is reflected in the dissemination of UNESCO's social, cultural and environmental values: community spirit, education, teaching responsibility, helping people to recognise themselves in relation to the world, creativity and the care and protection of shared resources and common goods.
