On Sunday, April 19, 2026, the traditional Fat Calf Fair will be held in Cherasco in conjunction with the patronal feast of the Risen Christ.
The fair, which is in its 92nd edition, has maintained its purely agricultural character, and alongside the livestock show there is an exhibition of agricultural machinery and implements.The appointment is Sunday morning starting at 9 a.m. in the Piazza degli Alpini. Also after the arch of Porta Narzole one can find the trade fair.
In the afternoon there is the religious appointment of the Risen Christ: at 4 p.m. there is a procession through the streets of the historic center.
In the same area, in Lagorio and Solomon square will be the amusement park, also on Monday also continues the commercial fair.
On the occasion of the fair, the restaurants of Cherasco will also offer dishes of Quinto Quarto and Salsiccia di Cherasco al Barolo on their menus. Quinto Quarto is represented by “offal” (liver, tripe, tongue, kidney, etc.), once appreciated because it was inexpensive, but still versatile and excellent on the plate, today almost unknown and unused. The initiative is by the Association for the Protection of Cherasco Sausage in Barolo as part of a campaign to raise awareness of waste reduction and reuse.
