Concerto Sacro e Profano - Alba

On Saturday 7 March, at 5.30 pm, the Diocesan Museum of Alba will host the second concert in the series ‘Sacred and Profane between the Middle Ages and the Baroque’, created by the Note e Natura association in collaboration with the Department of Early Music at the Vivaldi Conservatory in Alessandria.

In the evocative museum and artistic setting of the Crypt of St. Peter, among ancient and medieval archaeological finds from the MUDI, Ziyu Zhang (baroque violin), Alessio Calabrese (lute), and Filippo Borca (baroque cello) will perform.
The three young musicians will give a personal interpretation of the 17th-century sacred music repertoire with a performance of part of the “Sonatas on the Mysteries of the Rosary” by the Salzburg composer Johann Franz Biber for “discordant” violin, i.e. tuned differently from the traditional tuning.

Participation in the event is free of charge.
Places are limited, so booking is essential: free tickets can be booked online via the ARTSUPP ticket office, available on the museum's website homepage:
