On the first Sunday of September, as per tradition, the walk will take place in the quaint village of Sala Monferrato on the afternoon of Sunday, September 6th. The hike will be shorter than usual, about 6 km, and will depart from Piazza Europa at 5:00 PM, with meeting at 4:45 PM to avoid the expected warm temperatures. The first stretch (about 800 meters) will follow the asphalt road to the Cascine Bonelli farmhouses, then turn onto the scenic dirt road that runs alongside the Belvedere Aequilibrium. The next stretch leads to the beautiful Baroque church of San Grato, near which is the giant bench no. 48. After this point, the walk will take the dirt road that descends to the right and reaches the valley, followed by an uphill path on the dirt road that leads to the village. Here, the municipal administration will offer refreshments to all participants. To reach the village, Mayor Mario Melotti will welcome participants for the Sala walk and illustrate the route and the day's program. A licensed professional guide will accompany the group, highlighting the curiosities and details of these places, rich in history and rural traditions, which earned them UNESCO World Heritage recognition in 2014. This service will be provided by Bruno Anna Maria. Both walks last approximately 2 hours.
