Walking in Monferrato

On Sunday, September 13th, the "Walking the Monferrato" event will take place in Cereseto along route 747, "THE SILENT SPACES OF CERESETO." The route, organized by the Municipality of Cereseto in collaboration with the Sacro Monte di Crea Reserve, the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), and the patronage of "Il Monferrato," will begin at 3:00 PM in the Gardens of the Town Hall, at the foot of the imposing Gualino Castle. The meeting point is scheduled for 2:45 PM at the starting point, where Mayor Enzo Lavagno will welcome everyone and explain the event's progress, along with the route's creators. From the start, the route will follow Via Roma and Via Stazione, quickly reaching the geometric fields and green meadows of the valley floor. After easily crossing the small Rio Goré stream, the route will begin a comfortable climb towards the Cascine Buffalora and, then, near the large Cascina Merli. From here, the route continues along a scenic coastal road, descending towards Cascina Tavolara. After crossing Provincial Road 35, the route descends back into the valley and then climbs back up onto the paved road near Cascina Coccolotta. Turn right onto Provincial Road 36 and follow it for about 800 meters. At the end, take a dirt road on the right that will quickly bring you in sight of the Castle, a reference point for returning to the Town Hall Gardens, where the walk began. Before reaching the starting point, we'll stop at the Comida café, located in the playground area, where refreshments will be offered. A licensed professional guide will accompany hikers as they explore the area: Bruno Anna Maria will lead the tour.
