"The Science That Protects Us – The Age of Care"

June 27, 2026 · Casale Monferrato

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Salone Tartara in Piazza Castello will host "The Science that Protects Us – The Era of Care," the opening meeting of the first series of monthly single-theme events dedicated to health, the environment, and well-being in contemporary society. The initiative, sponsored by the City of Casale Monferrato and organized with Vitas ODV, Voci di Donne, and the Cesare Pavese Library of Serralunga di Crea, will be an opportunity to launch a process of discussion open to citizens and professionals from the various fields involved. The goal is to build a "Mosaic of Health," identifying themes, speakers, times, and methods for a program of meetings capable of responding to the needs of the community. The morning will consist of a participatory roundtable discussion, inspired by a model of dialogue and discussion, involving doctors, biologists, psychologists, environmental experts, representatives from the world of education, and citizens. The debate will be coordinated by Maria Antonietta Pinto. The topics to be addressed include medical experience, the relationship between science and the environment, psychophysical well-being, and the role of training and education, with the aim of building a shared reflection on an issue that affects people and the planet. The proceedings will open with greetings from the Councilor for Agriculture and Equal Opportunities, Annalisa Rizzo, who stated: "Health cannot be considered merely a health issue, but a theme that permeates the way we live, relate to one another, and care for the environment. In an era characterized by great change and increasing complexity, I believe it is important to create opportunities for discussion where different skills and sensibilities can meet. This process was born with the ambition of transforming knowledge and experience into a shared awareness, because the challenges affecting the well-being of people and the environment require a broad perspective and the active participation of the community." Participation is free and open to all, and confirmation of attendance is appreciated.
