On Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., the fourth and final event of the year will be "Passione Giappone, un viaggio tra libri e tè," an initiative dedicated to Japanese culture, featuring a guided tasting of Japanese tea offered by the "G. Canna" Civic Library of Casale Monferrato and the Yamato cultural association. As per tradition, the event will begin with a guided tea tasting hosted by tea sommelier Silvia Miglietta and offered by the Yamato association. The book "Mio padre" will then be presented, featuring a discussion between Alessia Trua and Franco Gervasio, who translated it into Italian with Ai Aoyama, accompanied by a reading of some excerpts. "Mio padre" by Hisashi Inoue is a play that tells the story of a father and daughter who are victims of the atomic bomb. It is a tale that blends drama and comedy, appealing to all human beings. The play, widely read internationally, invites reflection on the dangers of nuclear weapons and the consequences of war tragedies. Critics and audiences in Moscow, London, Toronto, Hong Kong, and New York have emphasized its universality, emotional power, and ability to convey courage and historical memory, making the drama a work of great cultural and human impact, brimming with laughter and tears, morality and emotion. Participation in the event is free. For further information, please contact the Civic Library at 0142444246 or email bibliote@comune.casale-monferrato.al.it
The final episode of "Passion for Japan" features "My Father."
