STORIES AND TERRITORY An afternoon of books, cinema, and culture at the Bistagno Plaster Cast Gallery A cultural event that brings together three experiences: literature, cinema, and artistic heritage, in a profound dialogue with the memory and identity of the region. The afternoon is divided into three parts. The event opens with a presentation of the novel "Aunt Elsa's Suitcase" by Patrizia Monzeglio, in conversation with Pier Carlo Guglielmero. A story that begins with an inherited suitcase and unfolds amidst family mysteries and major historical events, spanning Casale, Turin, and the Monferrato region: from September 8th to the Resistance, to the delicate theme of memory and its transmission. Clara Demarchi will read excerpts from the book. Alongside the written word, the language of cinema will be explored with a screening of the documentary film "The Rose Café" by Ermanno Africano, directed with Carlo Martinotti. A true-to-life thriller set between the two world wars in the Alta Valle dell'Orba, involving over one hundred local protagonists and rendering an authentic portrait of the region between Piedmont and Liguria. The journey concludes with a free guided tour of the Giulio Monteverde Plaster Cast Gallery, an opportunity to rediscover one of the most representative places of Bistagno culture, in perfect dialogue with the stories told during the event. Three languages, three experiences, a single common thread: the value of memory and the connection to the territory. The initiative will conclude with a convivial toast hosted by SMS Bistagno ETS.
