On Saturday 18 April at 5.30 pm at the Church of Santa Chiara in Bra, the “Court Performances” season gets underway once again. The new series, dedicated to the history of the House of Savoy as interpreted through music, will be inaugurated by the performance “Applausi poetici”.
The vocal and instrumental ensemble Gli Invaghiti will once again bring the historic sites of the project partners to life, in a circuit involving the Department of Savoy, Hautecombe Abbey, the Le Terre dei Savoia Association and Manta Castle, a property of the FAI – Italian National Trust.
“Applausi poetici” will take the audience on a musical journey to relive moments of great political and human passion through the personal experiences of Carlo Alberto and Santorre di Santarosa, who recount their stories in the “first person”, the glorification of the figure and ‘virtues’ of Carlo Felice by devoted servants of the royal family, and the presence of music by great composers (among whom Niccolò Paganini stands out) who worked in Piedmont and Paris during the very years of the 1821 Piedmontese Revolution and the re-establishment of the authoritarian model of government.
The next performance will take place at Govone Castle on Sunday 31 May at 5.30 pm
