“Rap Music Day” with “New Skin”

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, starting at 4:00 PM, "Rap Music Day" will take place at Eternot Park. This event, dedicated to hip hop music, will include workshops, freestyle battles, open mics, and live concerts. It is part of the "New Skin" program, promoted by the City of Casale Monferrato as part of the "Work & Play" project. The day will kick off in the afternoon with workshops: a beatbox lab led by Tenpo and a writing lab with Andrea Schiraldi, designed to introduce participants to the disciplines of hip hop through hands-on experience. The day will continue with a freestyle battle, featuring DJ BLBZ and an exceptional panel of judges including Abeiz, Smoke Tornado, and Frank Zappa, and an open mic open to anyone who wants to take the stage and have their words heard. In the evening, live concerts will take place, featuring local artists and others. Throughout the day, there will also be additional activities and spaces dedicated to young people, including the Monfreestyle Traveling Playroom, the Diffused Educational Center, the Mystico Cultural Association, DropIn Alessandria, Gate "Tu come stai?" (How are you?), and Juno Tattoo Studio. "With Rap Music Day, we want to offer young people an opportunity to meet, built with them and their languages. Giving space to music, freestyle, and workshops means giving space to those who live them: providing spaces, time, and a listening ear so that young people can express themselves and feel part of a community," says Paolo Granetto, Coordinator of the Vedogiovane SCS project. The initiative is part of the "New Skin" program, created thanks to the contribution of the Piedmont Region through the "Piemonte per i Giovani" (Piedmont for Young People) call and developed by the City of Casale Monferrato in collaboration with the Vedogiovane social cooperative and a local network of schools, associations, services, and educational organizations. The project, aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 25, will offer activities throughout 2026 dedicated to participation, socialization, education, and personal growth. Councilor for Social and Family Policies, Irene Caruso, states: "Rap Music Day perfectly represents the spirit with which we are pursuing policies aimed at young people: creating concrete opportunities for participation, socialization, and discussion, starting from their interests and abilities. Through the New Skin project, we want to create spaces where young people can meet, express themselves, and develop new relationships, while simultaneously enhancing the energies and realities present in the area. Music, in this sense, can also become an important tool for inclusion and community." Access to all initiatives is free.
