PAOLO FRESU & DANIELE DI BONAVENTURA "terre d'aria, rotte sospese"

June 24, 2026 · Casale Monferrato

Wednesday, June 24th - 9:00 PM (ticket required) PAOLO FRESU & DANIELE DI BONAVENTURA "Lands of Air, Suspended Routes" Paolo Fresu | Trumpet, Flugelhorn Daniele di Bonaventura | Bandoneon Two wind instruments, one breath. Paolo Fresu's Sardinian trumpet and Daniele di Bonaventura's Marche bandoneon create a dialogue that spans jazz, classical music, and ethnic traditions without completely belonging to either: a distinct, recognizable, and difficult-to-classify soundscape. At the core is the poetics of essential sound: no electronic effects, no bombast. Just the blowing of the valves, the vibrato of the reeds, the striking of metal, the keys pressed without a sound. "Parasitic" noises that restore physicality, in the tradition of Ben Webster and Charles Mingus, and transform each concert into an act both intimate and universal. The repertoire moves seamlessly between original compositions, improvisations, and melodies from shared memory: from Chico Buarque to Victor Jara, from Breton lullabies to Puccini's waltzes, from the Chilean resistance anthem to 1930s Italian cinema. A journey that touches Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, and the heart of the Argentine bandoneon tradition. Poetry of small sounds, in an age of growing noise. followed by DANILO REA and Martux_m "Sakamoto & me" Danilo Rea | piano Martux_m | electronics Mauro Cosenza | visuals How can we relive the genius of Ryuichi Sakamoto through the eyes of an improvising pianist? On stage, the piano becomes the voice and soul that intertwines the sonic textures of Martux_m, a pioneer of Italian electronic music, while the dreamlike visions of Mauro Cosenza, an Argentine video artist, paint interior landscapes. A vibrant tribute to the immortal soundtracks of the great Japanese composer, enriched by original compositions. The music of Sakamoto, a multifaceted and boundless artist, capable of blending the elegance of Puccini and Debussy with the depth of Japanese musical culture and electronics, is reborn in this project, between memory and invention, in a new texture of sounds, emotions, and visions. A hypnotic journey, where losing yourself is necessary to rediscover yourself, profoundly transformed.
