The Oltreponte Festival will be held on Sunday 7 June. The areas involved will be Piazza Marinai d'Italia and the tree-lined area, the church square and oratory, sections of Via Antonio Olearo and Via Italo Rossi and the gymnasium of the XXV Aprile School. The Festival will last all day from 9 am until 11 pm. The decision to confirm this Festival was taken by the Participation Council (CdP) and also anticipated in the Public Assembly held at the end of March. The Festival will have the patronage of the Municipality of Casale Monferrato and the Po Park. Why is the Festival still in Oltreponte? Because one of the aims of the Participation Councils is to "spread and consolidate solidarity and the spirit of aggregation in the city community". The objective is to give an annual cadence to this moment of celebration for the neighbourhood and given last year's success, it was decided to propose it again. Thanks to the close collaboration between the president of the Historic Shops (Laura Mara) and the CdP itself, we have tried to involve first of all the Parish, some people active in the neighborhood and the commercial realities of Oltreponte, there will be music and dance performances, a market of various products with about 40 stands, it will be possible to taste good food also in refreshment areas at the Bar Ina and in Street Food stations with tables and chairs (fish menu and Monferrato dishes), there will be games and entertainment for children, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the XXV Aprile School there will be an exhibition with drawings by the children of the primary and nursery schools with the theme "Draw Oltreponte" and awards ceremony in the afternoon, there will be an exhibition of cardboard artefacts used for the carnival parades and for "floats not floats" with a parade at 11am (at the end of the 10am Mass) accompanied by the Majorettes of Occimiano who starting from the Church Square will arrive to the 'green area behind the Post Office where Legambiente and Parco del Po will illustrate the various and rare butterflies that populate the Po riverside area, there will also be demonstrations on the importance of bees in everyday life. There will also be sports performances. A gazebo of the Oltreponte CdP will be present all day where residents can ask for information and bring proposals / observations / requests to improve our neighborhood, some voluntary associations will also be present on Sunday, there will be a station of the Alpine troops always present at the initiatives in the neighborhood, there will also be a charity bank / lottery with prizes in the oratory, in Piazza Marinai d'Italia there will then be music animated by DJs and from around 5 pm in rapid succession a series of performances and dance shows, the Majorette Azzurre of Occimiano will still be present, the detailed program with all the times of the various performances will be communicated in the next few days. The festival will then continue with music and dancing until 11:00 p.m. Please note that on Sunday, June 7th, Piazza Marinai d'Italia, the church square, and sections of Via Antonio Olearo and Via Italo Rossi will be closed to traffic with no parking, in accordance with the local police order, to allow the festival to proceed smoothly. Best regards Massimo De Bernardi, President of the Oltreponte Committee and Laura Mara, President of Botteghe Storiche Statement from the Mayor of Casale Monferrato, Emanuele Capra: "The Administration continues its policy of promoting neighborhood festivals, recognizing them as fundamental tools for participation, social interaction, and cohesion among citizens. The Oltreponte Festival represents an important community event, involving not only the neighborhood but the entire city. Oltreponte is a vibrant community, with its own identity and with citizens, associations, and social groups that contribute to its vitality every day. Precisely for this reason, it deserves constant attention and concrete and ongoing enhancement efforts, which are not limited to individual initiatives but are built over time. Occasions like this strengthen the sense of belonging and foster relationships between people, helping to make the fabric of the city more cohesive.
