On Sunday, June 7th, at 5:00 pm, music continues to dominate the cultural season at the Casale Monferrato Synagogue with the second installment of "Music in the Jewish Complex." This festival, now in its 14th year, brings to Vicolo Salomone Olper works and composers related to the world of Judaism, carefully selected by artistic director Giulio Castagnoli. Sunday's concert, titled "Chant Hébraïque," will feature Andrea Stefenell, a pianist well-known in Casale for decades as the accompanist for the Casale Coro, along with Amedeo Fenoglio, who has been tenured cello with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra since 2018. Additionally, as a chamber musician, Fenoglio performs for some of the leading concert societies, including the Unione Musicale and De Sono in Turin, the Accademia Perosi in Biella, the Festival Massimo Amfiteatrof in Levanto, and the Cappella Paolina Concerts at the Quirinale in Rome. Fenoglio's curriculum included advanced studies at the Accademia di Musica in Pinerolo, with Alexander Lonquich, and at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, winning numerous awards in international competitions. He continued his training by attending the cello specialization course at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Giovanni Sollima, where he graduated with honors in 2015. In 2016, he earned a Master of Arts in Music Performance from the Hochschule für Musik in Basel in the class of Thomas Demenga. The concert program includes two pieces, Op. 16 (Romances and Humoresque) by Leone Sinigaglia (1868-1944), followed by Robert Schumann's (1810-1856) Five Pieces in the Folk Music, Op. 102 (Vanitas Vanitatum: With Long Humor, Not Quick, Playing with Much Sound, Not Scratching, Strong and Marked). Another composer from a Jewish family is Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco (1895-1968), whose Chant hébraïque we will hear. Finally, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's famous Second Concerto for Cello and Piano, Op. 58. Admission is free. For information, call 0142 71807 www.casalebraica.org
