MUSIC IN THE JEWISH COMPLEX WITH ANNA D'ERRICO AND A WORLD PREMIERE

May 31, 2026 · Casale Monferrato

On Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 5:00 PM, "Music in the Jewish Complex" returns to the Casale Synagogue. This is the 14th season of this festival, directed by Giulio Castagnoli (composition professor at the Turin Conservatory), which has a truly unique characteristic: presenting composers and pieces connected to the Jewish world. And all in a venue founded more than 400 years ago by a community already closely connected to city life. In the past, this context has lent itself to many evocative pieces, both for the history they evoke and for a carefully selected program, often offering true rarities to enthusiasts. This first event will be no exception, featuring an extraordinary pianist performing for the first time in the hall on Vicolo Salomone Olper: Anna D'Errico, a world-class pianist who today, among other things, teaches piano at the Venice Conservatory. The program features two great twentieth-century piano classics and an unreleased piece by Gianni Bozzola, a young composer who has already made a name for himself at Europe's most prestigious musical institutions. Anna D'Errico is the perfect pianist for this music: passionate about the avant-garde music of the early and late twentieth centuries and contemporary idioms. She has collaborated with composers such as Pierre Boulez, Salvatore Sciarrino, Helmut Lachenmann, Beat Furrer, and Rebecca Saunders. She trained at the Venice Conservatory and later at the Giorgio Cini Foundation. She has performed at international institutions such as the Lucerne Festival, Carnegie Hall, Wien Modern, Mozarteum Salzburg, Konzerthaus Berlin, and as a soloist with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana. With the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, conducted by Marco Angius, she has created video productions for Rai5, featuring live recordings of the Piano Concerto No. 24 K. 491 by W. A. Mozart. She is regularly invited to give courses at international academic institutions and has recorded for Kairos, Neos, Stradivarius, Raccanto, Ars Publica, Wergo, and CMC Canada. Her educational projects have been awarded the "Silver Lion" at the Venice Biennale and the Abbiati Prize. The program includes the "Sechs kleine Klavierstücke op. 19" by Arnold Schoenberg (1874-1951), followed by the world premiere of three nocturnes by Gianni Bozzola (Notturno da cor Azul, Notturno sui tasti neri, Notturno Tremulant), and concludes with the "14 Bagatelles op. 6" by Béla Bartók (1881-1945). Admission is free. Information: 0142 71807 www.casalebraica.org
