Active for over 150 years, the Casale Monferrato market originated in the 19th century in Piazza Mazzini, later moving to Piazza Castello. It was mentioned as early as 1872 in a newspaper article proposing its move from Piazza Carlo Alberto, now Piazza Mazzini, to a more suitable and larger location, specifically Piazza Castello. The bi-weekly market on December 25, 2026 and January 1, 2027 will be brought forward to Thursdays, December 24, 2026 and December 31, 2026.
