The Giuseppe Spina Municipal Library, under the patronage of the Municipality of Treville, presents the 22nd edition of "La Bella Estate," a series of readings and creative activities for children and young people aged 6 and up. The initiative takes place from August 3rd to 31st (every afternoon from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM) at the Dehors delle Rose Comunale in Treville (Via Roma 6). Children's participation is free. Those wishing to register can do so by calling 3395415940. Children must be accompanied by their parents to the first appointment to complete the registration form. During the quintessential month of vacation, Treville opens its doors and welcomes children with a constantly changing series of free art workshops for anyone wishing to spend summer afternoons in one of the most picturesque hilltop villages in the area. The initiative was created both to offer families staying in Monferrato a creative program focused on children, and to appeal to tourists who choose this area for their holidays. The group of children who attend Bella Estate is often diverse: some decide to attend a specific workshop, some participate only until they leave for the beach, and some become loyal and never miss a single day. The initiative therefore sees the participation of not only local children, but also residents of neighboring municipalities, patiently accompanied by grandparents and parents who then stay to watch and, if necessary, act as helpers. The atmosphere is familiar and industrious; everyone is having fun but committed to achieving good results, no matter what the day's activity. The basic formula, which has always worked well over the years, is the serial reading of a children's novel, the conclusion of which is revealed only at the end of the month. A key strength is the presence of local artists, artisans, and professionals who are available to teach children their skills and pass on their expertise, ensuring that manual dexterity and creativity are not lost. Here is the detailed program for "La Bella Estate" 2026: August 3 and 5: "The ABCs of Sewing - Sewing on Buttons and Hemming" - Workshop with Nonna Franca (recommended age: 8 years and up). August 4: "Georgia's Biscuits" - Walk to Cascinotto and baking workshop with Georgia Nasari. August 6: "Treville in Altura" - Stilts and Alternative Points of View Workshop with Federico Toso. August 7: "Walk to San Quirico" to encounter the magic of Melissa Dawson's harp. August 10 and 11: "Summer Night - Children Interpret Van Gogh" - Painting workshop with Lella Marotto. August 12: "The Solar Eclipse at Sunset and the Shower of Shooting Stars" - A Guide to Reading the Sky with Gioele Giachero of the Casalese Amateur Astronomers Group "Giovanni Celoria". August 13: "Monferrato Galaxy - From the Hills to the Sky" - Workshop with canton stone under the guidance of Anna the Sculptor. August 18: "The Notebook of Memories" - Artistic workshop for creating a book to preserve summer memories under the guidance of Paola Iuricich. August 19: "Summer Sowing" - Walk to the La Sortina farmhouse followed by planting pots of seasonal flowers and vegetables. August 20: "A Nest for the Winter" - Workshop for building a wooden birdhouse under the guidance of Davide Ansaldi and Jessica Nasari. August 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28: "Theater Rehearsals" – Children (ages 7 and up) must register by the first week of August to allow for part assignment. The young actors will read their assigned pieces and present them to the audience during the Final Rehearsal. Given the limited number of rehearsals, children wishing to participate must be present on all rehearsal days. August 31, 5:30 pm: Final Rehearsal in the Town Hall (open to the public). Exhibition of all the works and performance. A children's novel will be read in installments throughout the festival.
