# All day Sunday, May 3rd, Piazza Europa will host a market with EVO oil vendors, a stand for the Piedmontese Olive Growers' Association (ASSPO), and a selection of artisanal food, wine, and agricultural products, promoting the short supply chain and local excellence. # At 10:00 am: Guided tour led by Anna Maria Bruno through the olive groves, cellars, and scenic beauty of the Monferrato village, with a small tasting at the cellar (€8 – info +39 331 9550913). # At 11:30 am, in the presence of food and wine critic Paolo Massobrio and geologist Frixa, Mayor Gianmanuele Grossi will award the De.Co. (Municipal Designation of Origin) to the olive groves of the Oliviera di Anita Aquilino Casamento and the San Pietro di Cristina Melotti farms. # At 11:50 a.m., the "Friend of Monferrato EVO Oil" award (a Pietra da Cantoni piece designed by Gianmaria Sabatini) will be presented to Massobrio for his outstanding work in promoting and highlighting EVO oil produced in the Monferrato area. # At 12 p.m., in collaboration with the sommeliers of AIS Casale Monferrato, a blind masterclass will be held at Villa Guazzo Candiani, featuring six EVO oils paired with six wines and food (labels and producers are attached). The masterclass will be led by oil sommelier, expert taster, and ONAV instructor Luigi Ronchetti. New to this edition will be the presence of a guest EVO oil produced in the Veneto region, to compare and contrast their identities and differences from an organoleptic perspective. Food pairing by Bricco dei Guazzi (€30.00 - reservations required: 347 2375932). From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., takeaway peasant dishes and snacks are available at the Olivola Apartments on Via Pugno 2 and Via Vittorio Veneto 1. These include: grissia monferrato, muletta, cooked salami, friciulin verde, onion omelette, crostini with extra virgin olive oil, Bonet (a type of bread) and water. The menu is €17.00, courtesy of I Due Buoni Catering, and Ca’ Nostra wine is €3.00 (reservations required by April 28: 366 2549251). Also in town, a menu featuring extra virgin olive oil from Monferrato is also available at Ristorante La Magione, and wine & food is available at Ca’ Nostra. # From 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, at Relais Le Libellule, Piazza San Pietro 3, "Solcando il Monferrato" Artisan Workshop, featuring the creation of personal pieces in Pietra da Cantoni stone, under the guidance of Gianmaria Sabatini (€15 – reservations by April 30th at +39 338 988094 or +39 331 9550913). ************************************* # Monday, May 4th, 10:30 AM, "It's good and it's good for you.
