GAD LERNER – JEWS AT WAR. A meeting with Gad Lerner dedicated to memory, history, and discussion of one of the most complex and timely issues of our time. Gad Lerner, born in Beirut in 1954 and moved to Italy at the age of three, began his journalism career in 1976 at the daily newspaper Lotta Continua, later collaborating with publications such as Il Manifesto and L’Espresso. Introduced by: Roberto Rossi. During his long career, he has worked in television journalism, hosting political and cultural analysis programs such as Milano, Italia, Profondo Nord, and, on LA7, L’infedele. He was also deputy editor of La Stampa, director of TG1, and, in 2001, the first editor of TG LA7. He has collaborated with Il Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, Vanity Fair, and Nigrizia. Since 2017, he has returned to producing investigative and in-depth programs for Rai 3, including L’approdo and La difesa della razza. He currently collaborates with Il Manifesto. Alongside his journalism, he also works as a writer and essayist. His book Scintille. Una storia di anime vagabonde (Feltrinelli, 2009) won the Selezione Campiello Prize and the Cesare Pavese Prize in 2010. His most recent works include Gaza. Odio e amore per Israele (Feltrinelli, 2024) and Ebrei in guerra. Dialogo tra un rabbbi e un dissidente (Jews at War. Dialogue between a Rabbi and a Dissident) (Feltrinelli, 2025), co-written with Riccardo Di Segni. Together with journalist Laura Gnocchi and the ANPI, he also launched the project "Noi Partigiani – Memoriale della Resistenza Italiana," which inspired the book of the same name published by Feltrinelli. The meeting is also suitable for teacher training.
