To mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi, Santa Vittoria d’Alba is dedicating an evening to the figure and message of Italy’s patron saint. On Saturday 3 October 2026 at 8.45 pm, the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary will host the sacred performance "Francesco – Laudato si'", organised by the Anforianus ODV Association – Art, Culture and Territory. The Night of the Transition, which commemorates the Saint of Assisi’s passing into eternal life, symbolically guides the audience towards 4 October.
At the heart of the performance will be Franciscan teachings, respect for creation, and the values of humility, peace and brotherhood.
The Torre di Mathi theatre company, based in the province of Turin, has been staging this sacred performance through song and music for many years. Music that also becomes contemplation.
Free admission; donations welcome.
