On market day (Tuesday and Friday), the public is reminded that it is forbidden to park on the white parking spaces between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Failure to comply will result in forced removal. REGIONAL RECOGNITION The market of Casale Monferrato has joined the list of traditional historic markets of the Piedmont Region, which already contains another fifteen which have been officially recognized. In operation for more than 150 years, the market of Casale Monferrato originated in the 19th century in Piazza Mazzini, and later moved to Piazza Castello. It had already been mentioned in 1872, in a newspaper article which suggested moving it from piazza Carlo Alberto, now Piazza Mazzini, to the more suitable and bigger site of piazza Castello. Historically, it hosted markets specialized in livestock and grapes. The twice-weekly market on 25 December 2026 and 1 January 2027 will be anticipated to Thursday 24 December 2026 and 31 December 2026.
