Giandroid is back, complete with a white horse, and he's done it in style to announce the 9th edition of CasaleComics & Games, which will take place on May 23 and 24, 2026, at the Castle, the Palafiere, and throughout the historic center. This year, the event's beloved mascot has been reinterpreted by an extraordinary master of Italian comics: Roby the Redbreast, the stage name of Ernesto Anderle. Milanese, born in 1984, Anderle studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, lived in London, and joined the artistic and cultural movement "Giovani Artisti" in Trento. He is a multifaceted artist: his language spans various disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and archaeology. His works have been exhibited in various art galleries in Milan, Trento, Venice, and Beijing. His Facebook page, "Roby il Pettirosso," has 146,000 followers, and nearly 80,000 people follow him on Instagram. With Beccogiallo, he has published Perdersi nei dettagli, Vincent van Love, Ridammi la mano, Fabrizio De André, Murubutu, RAPconti illustrati, and Raffaello e Casanova, while for Edizioni Lapis, he illustrated Orgoglio e Prejudice. The CasaleComics posters have always been entrusted to renowned artists since the event's inception in 2016: the first were SIO (2016), Federica Di Meo (2017), Sergio Cabella (2018), and Max Ferrigno (2019). Since 2022, after the double interruption due to Covid, the protagonist has always been Giandroid, the friendly cowboy robot created by Bianca Maria Costa Barbè, specifically for the Casale event. In 2023, the character was reinterpreted in a colorful poster by Christian Cornia; in 2024, Francesco Barbieri drew a running Giandroid, symbolizing the twinning with Stracasale; in 2025, Giorgio Sommacal depicted a carefree Giandroid with a pencil in his mouth. Ernesto Anderle created an epic version, also to emphasize how CasaleComics & Games is an event capable of involving the entire city. Thus, Giandroid looms large with his steed over Piazza Mazzini, which the people of Casale call Piazza del Cavallo (Horse Square) after the equestrian monument to Carlo Alberto. And who knows, perhaps one day the Comics mascot might even have his own statue. Infoline casalecomicsandgames.it Tel 346 043 0009 348 540 8441 info@casalecomicsandgames.it
