As part of the exhibition dedicated to Attilio Cassinelli, "Attilio. The Children's Castle," held in the Salone Marescalchi of the Castello del Monferrato, a program of collateral events has been developed, aimed at both the public and professionals in the world of education and childcare services. The free and open-access events will begin on Sunday, February 22nd at 3:00 PM in the exhibition spaces, with Giada and Greta from Bottega del Sanconiglio offering "Many Crowns on the Castle Walls," a creative workshop for boys and girls, featuring an introductory reading of short fairy tales. On Saturday, March 7th at 4:00 PM, again at the exhibition, Letizia Bolzani will lead the reading workshop "Pinocchio Readings." Two meetings are scheduled for nursery school teachers and preschool and elementary school teachers starting in March: on Saturday, March 21st, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Marco Dallari, educationalist and former Full Professor of General and Social Pedagogy at the University of Trento, will speak on the topic "Fairy Tales and Stories in the Natural Environment: A Useful Practice for Knowledge, Emotions, and the Imagination." On Saturday, April 11th, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, Letizia Bolzani, a cultural services assistant at Swiss Radio and Television, will deliver a two-part presentation: "Attilio the Illustrator: The History of the Picture Book" and "Attilio the Writer: Fairy Tales, Poems, and Rewritings." Participation in the training courses is free, and registration is required by Monday, March 2, 2026, using the online form: https://forms.gle/NYwi7e3gauJ5Yx2m7 "Attilio. The Children's Castle" is a project, created with the support of the Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria Foundation and the CRT Foundation. Designed primarily for children, but open to visitors of all ages, it captures the relevance and expressive power of Attilio's work even today. The exhibition is structured to transform the Marescalchi Hall into a series of thematic spaces populated by Kings, Queens, Princes, and Princesses, depicted as silhouettes, who accompany visitors on a journey through the central themes of his poetics, such as ecology, tree care, and attention to the land and water. The exhibition will be open to the public, with free admission, until May 10, 2026, during Castello del Monferrato's opening hours: Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and during the week by reservation.
