On Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 8:30 PM, the Paraboloide in Casale Monferrato will host a symphonic concert featuring the Heinrich-Heine-Symphoniker of Düsseldorf (Germany). The German orchestra will present a program dedicated to three important composers of the European musical tradition, under the direction of Maestro Federico Ferrari and featuring cellist Matteo Tabbia. The evening will open with Richard Wagner's Faust Overture, a piece inspired by the famous literary myth of Faust and characterized by the strong expressive tension typical of Wagner's style. This will be followed by Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85, one of the most significant works in the 20th-century repertoire for cello and orchestra, appreciated for its melodic intensity and the dialogue between the solo instrument and the orchestra. The program will close with Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 7 in D minor, Op. 70. Composed in the second half of the 19th century and considered one of the Bohemian composer's most mature works, it intertwines symphonic rigor, elements of the Slavic musical tradition, and a rich variety of themes and atmospheres. The event thus offers a musical journey spanning different eras and sensibilities, from German Romanticism to the great European symphonic tradition, offering the audience a wide-ranging program performed by an international ensemble. Admission to the concert is free.
