The Municipality of Cherasco, the Piedmont Regional Council, and the Cherasco Cultura Association have organized a historical conference titled “Cherasco 1631. A Hope for Peace in a Europe at War,” which will take place on October 23 and 24, 2026, at the Salomone Theater. The conference will examine—with the participation of distinguished speakers from Italian and foreign universities as well as local historians—the event that brought an end to the War of Succession of Mantua and Monferrato.
The project also includes a concert (also at the Salomone Theater), performed by the Accademia di Santo Spirito of Turin, dedicated to Claudio Monteverdi’s masterpiece “Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda” and other pieces of Baroque music.
