Casale Città Aperta returns in May, the traditional initiative to showcase the city's monuments and museums, organized by the Department of Culture – Civic Museum in collaboration with the Orizzonte Casale Association. On Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th, 2026, tourists and visitors will be able to visit: Monferrato Castle: with the opportunity to climb the stands and inside the towers and visit the exhibitions inside: Saturday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Church of Santa Caterina: Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM (church) and from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM (choir). Municipal Theater: closed for performances. Civic Tower: Saturday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Cathedral of Sant'Evasio: Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Church of San Domenico: Saturday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. San Michele: Saturday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Palazzo Gozani di San Giorgio, the town hall, offers tours of the rooms on the main floor: the Council Chamber, Gallery, Green Room, Red Room, and Yellow Room, decorated with splendid frescoes by Francesco Lorenzi depicting mythological themes. Sundays from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Church of San Paolo, opposite the Town Hall (Sundays from 10:15 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm): Built in the mid-16th century for the Barnabite Fathers by architect Lorenzo Binago, it houses splendid paintings by Guglielmo Caccia, known as Moncalvo, including "The Conversion of Saint Paul," "The Beheading," and "The Assumption." Also noteworthy is the ornate chapel—built in the mid-17th century—to the right of the entrance, modeled after the Holy House of Loreto. Monferrato Historical-Military Trail (Coordination of the Armed Forces Associations, Via Martiri di Nassiriya 8): Sundays from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm with an exhibition of an interesting and extensive collection of documents and photographs held by the Coordination. Military Historical-Cultural Trail (National Alpine Association, Via De Cristoforis 16): Saturdays from 9:00 am to 11:30 am; Sundays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, with advance notice the day before by calling 3394159256. The museum displays a fascinating and vast historical, documentary, book, and artistic heritage. It will also be possible to participate in a free walk led by volunteers from the Orizzonte Casale association, lasting approximately one hour, to discover the city's main monuments. Meet at the kiosk in Piazza Castello (in front of the Municipal Theater) on Sundays at 3:30 pm. The following museums will also be open over the weekend: Civic Museum and Bistolfi Plaster Cast Gallery (admission fee applies) on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Located in the former Convent of Santa Croce, frescoed in the early 17th century by Guglielmo Caccia, known as Moncalvo, it includes the Pinacoteca (Art Gallery), the Leonardo Bistolfi Plaster Cast Gallery, and the Carlo Vidua collection. In the Vitoli Hall on the first floor, the exhibition "Here Italy is Made. The Figure of the Hero from Bistolfi to Baroni" will be open until June 28th. Museum staff offers a guided tour of the exhibition at 4:00 pm on Sundays; reservations are not required. The Synagogue and Jewish Museums will be open on Sundays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm with an admission fee. Built in 1595, a monument of great historical and artistic interest, the Jewish Temple today stands in all its Piedmontese Baroque-Rococo splendor (1700-1800). The adjacent Jewish Museum displays numerous silverware, textiles, and religious objects. Duomo Museum: Open Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, it offers the opportunity to admire precious reliquaries, splendid textiles, and important mosaics. Access to the Cathedral's attic is also possible on Sundays. Depending on the temperature, a guided tour of the Cathedral's atrium will be offered, including a climb to the women's galleries, where visitors can admire the Romanesque capitals and vaults up close, as well as enjoy a bird's-eye view of the atrium itself.
