On Saturday, February 21, starting at 2 p.m., WiMu and the Municipality of Barolo will celebrate Chinese New Year with “Brindisi alla luna” (Toast to the Moon), an initiative organized in collaboration with the Confucius Institute of the University of Turin, bringing to the hills of the Langhe a symbolic dialogue between cultures that are distant but surprisingly similar.
The project stems from a proposal by artist Enrico Arfero, aka Jargon, and is conceived as an encounter between languages: that of classical Chinese poetry and that of contemporary urban art. At its heart is the value of good drinking as a cultural and relational gesture, capable of cementing friendships, collaborations, and traditions, both in Chinese culture and in the wine culture of the Langhe.
