In May 2026, after the weekend closure for Labor Day, the Casale Monferrato Girls' and Boys' Library will continue its activities with numerous initiatives aimed at children. Below are the scheduled events. On Thursday, May 7th and Tuesday, May 26th, at 5:00 pm, reading sessions will be held with "Magical Atmospheres of Childhood," part of the "Born to Read with Storytellers" series. On Friday, May 8th, at 5:30 pm, a creative meeting will be held to celebrate Mother's Day, organized in collaboration with the "Le Madamin" Atelier in Casale Monferrato to create a gift for mothers. On Thursday, May 14th, at 5:00 PM, a new meeting in the "Born to Read with Storytellers" series will offer "Stories Read and Discussed," an outdoor event in the Casale Monferrato Citadel, sharing classic children's fiction. On Tuesday, May 19th, at 5:00 PM, the "Horticultural Workshop" led by Professor Giovanni Ganora will take place with "Flowers, Fruit, and Vegetables of May!" This workshop will explore the produce of the last month of spring, ushering in summer, through the explosions of colors, flavors, and scents offered by nature. On Thursday, May 21st, at 5:00 PM, "Ma che bel castello marcondirondirondello," an initiative organized in collaboration with the "Orizzonte Casale" Association, will feature a meeting dedicated to sundials, ancient instruments for measuring time by observing the movement of shadows. On Wednesday, May 27th, at 5:00 PM, the initiative "Where do you live?", dedicated to early childhood (up to age 3), will take place. This English-language theater workshop, created in collaboration with the Kids&Us school in Casale Monferrato, will feature a show loosely based on Aesop's famous fable "Town Mouse and Country Mouse." Children will follow the adventures of two very different friends and discover how the protagonists, Mousy and Linda, learn to appreciate the beauty of diversity. "Favoleggiando, girovagando" (Falling, Wandering) will continue a busy schedule of visits and workshops at the Children's Library with local schools and with traveling readings at institutions within the Monferrato Library System until May 29th. All events are free to attend. Materials for the workshops will be provided by the library.
