Acqui on Stage - Opening Night "Coppélia - A Mechanical Ballet" A mechanical doll and illusion, an off-axis body and a suspended puppet: Coppélia. A Mechanical Ballet, a new creation by Caterina Mochi Sismondi, explores the themes of identity and mask, portraying a fragile, ironic, and powerful female figure. Inspired by Coppélia – The Girl with the Enamel Eyes, the show intertwines classical and contemporary dance, contortion, capillary suspension, and a dialogue between body, object, sound, and image. The music, reworked by Bea Zanin based on Delibes, blends electronics and cello. The work also engages with Fernand Léger's Ballet Mécanique, evoking fragmentation, repetition, and multiple points of view.
