This year, we're returning to Ponzano Monferrato for a festive weekend. On the morning of Sunday, May 3rd, organized by Cammini DiVini and Nordic Walking Valcerrina, we're offering an easy, approximately 10-kilometer circular route through the hills and vineyards of Monferrato, in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a unique opportunity to visit the prestigious gardens of the historic Villa il Cedro, Ponzano Castle, Salabue Castle, and Villa Marta in Salabue. Between these gardens, we'll pass through the scenic vineyards scattered throughout the village. This includes, of course, the Monferrato region, which offers spectacular natural beauty, especially in this season. As we pass by Monte Uliveto on the Nazzari estate, we'll also pass by the Sacro Monte di Crea, which stands on the neighboring hill separated from Ponzano by renowned vineyards. Meeting point: in front of the Ponzano Monferrato Pro Loco Tourist Office, at Via Sottoripa no. 5 starting at 8:30 a.m. for registration, departure at 9:00 a.m. https://goo.gl/maps/eGj4THjUZUoaomCy5 The route includes both dirt trails and paved roads, with some passages through vineyards. It's a complete loop of the municipality of Ponzano, offering breathtaking views of the hills of Monferrato Casalese, Valcerrina, and the nearby Asti area. Guided by professional environmental hiking guide Augusto Cavallo, it's a must. Comfortable clothing suitable for the season, sports shoes, a hat, and a supply of water are required. Upon arrival, all participants will have the opportunity to join the "Walker's Lunch" hosted by the Pro Loco Ponzano. The menu includes four appetizers (cold cuts, Russian salad, Piedmontese antipasto, tomini cheese with mustard), tagliolini with spring tomato sauce, roast beef with vegetable flan, and dessert (hazelnut panna cotta). (Water included, wine and coffee not included) Cost: €25 Contribution for the walk alone: €10 per person N.B.: Reservations are required for both the walk and lunch!
