Alba is celebrating an important anniversary for its cultural and scientific heritage: November 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the reopening to the public of the “Federico Eusebio” Civic Museum of Archaeology and Natural Sciences, which was moved in 1976 to its current location within the Maddalena Complex and, on that occasion, expanded to include new sections dedicated to the natural history of the region.
The events will be held in memory of Oreste Cavallo, a well-known agronomist and professor in the Langhe and Roero region who passed away a year ago. A graduate in Agricultural Sciences, a professor at the Alba School of Oenology, and a nature and photography enthusiast. He contributed to the establishment of the Natural Sciences section of the Eusebio Civic Museum in Alba, enriching its collections through his work as a researcher and collector, and also published numerous books.
